Lovely! This is one of Palm Springs best kept secrets! Such a gorgeous property! So much nicer than a “hotel” atmosphere. The grounds are AMAZING and the decor is just beautiful. Peaceful, immaculate and very comfortable, we were welcomed and the owners went out of their way to make our stay nice. We loved the location and being able to walk to our favorite restaurants downtown. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to it!
This was our first trip to Palm Springs. We spent 5 nights in the casita. It was a pleasure dealing with the owners throughout – from the initial phone call to make the booking, subsequent emails, to meeting them upon our arrival. They made sure that we had everything we needed. This location is ideal; it is a 10 min walk to the town centre. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained – the casita was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and we really appreciated having the use of a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and 2 burner stove so we didn’t have to eat every meal out. All in all, a quiet and restful place. We loved it so much that we wouldn’t consider going to Palm Springs again unless we could stay here again!
Casa de Monte Vista is a hidden gem! My family was able to spend a few days here to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. It could not have been better. Every square inch of this property has been attended to with a loving touch. The landscaping is beautiful and the casitas and main building hold all the charm of Old Hollywood Palm Springs. Joe and Elizabeth attended to all our needs and were a pleasure to spend time with. This lovely and peaceful refuge allowed for us to reconnect with and celebrate family in the most special way. We spent the weekend enjoying food and drink (thank you PS Underground) and swimming, lounging and gabbing by the gorgeous pool. It exceeded every expectation. Many many thanks!!!
Charm, charm, charm! My husband and I generally prefer the “luxury hotel” category of lodging when we travel for pleasure, but we were told good things about Casa de Monte Vista and decided to give it a try. We were SO Pleased! The personalized service from Joe and his attentive staff was instantly welcoming as we were led through the private gates. The organically grown produce served with fresh omelets for breakfast started the day off right, followed by a bicycle ride through the interesting streets pocked with ultra mid-century-modern homes. The property offers a collection of historic Palm Springs movie star memorabilia, a magical rose garden, and classic Spanish architecture with fountains and stone pathways… all of which instantly allow the small group of guests to quickly feel relaxed. While there is plenty of privacy to get away from it all, the central courtyard, warm pool and spa, friendly terrace bar, and comfortable piano room create wonderful spaces for gathering with others and enjoying the eclectic character of the space, as well as the other guests. We highly recommend this beautiful spot for your next gathering of friends or a private get-away.
This place was so magical. I couldn’t believe we found it during high season. Joe was a gracious host and so warm and interesting. The omelettes he makes with fresh ingredients from the garden are so spectacular (and I’m a chef). There is so much care and thought put into every detail of the space from the soft music throughout the property to the amazingly comfy bed and luxurious sheets. A true gem. We will definitely return.
I helped to organize a corporate dinner/reception event for our top clients on Monday May 23rd, 2016. Our guests were primarily Fortune 500 executives and plenty of attorneys – so folks used to getting spoiled. To a person, they were all impressed with the venue and had a fantastic time. From the outset, the owner, Joe, was simply outstanding. He was attentive, responsive, and extremely invested in making our event a success. The venue itself is quite stunning and wonderfully decorated with artifacts from around the world (mainly spanish/south american influences). We did not want a formal sit down dinner for our ~140 guests, but rather wanted to have a more intimate feel, with folks able to grab a food plate and find a small table to dine and interact at (although I can see how large formal events/weddings would work just fine here, too). Casa de Monte Vista is perfectly set up for our style and we only needed to bring in minimal additional seating. We didnt bother with much extra lighting or sound as the place is so well equipped already. The grounds are large, with plenty of “secret spots/hidden gems”, the view of the mountains in the late afternoon/evening was gorgeous, and the back garden/pool area ended up drawing the biggest crowds. Joe was onsite all night to make sure that music was always on and at decent levels, that catering staff were able to do what they needed, etc. Quite simply a wonderful venue, excellent host, and highly recommended. We did not stay in the Casitas but can imagine what a wonderful time we would have had, had we decided to do so. Thanks, Joe – for a truly wonderful night.
This place is just as stunning as the photos and Joe is the most wonderful, hospitable host I’ve ever encountered. I will absolutely be back here for a relaxing get away in paradise. This property is nothing short of Shangri-la!!
We six friends celebrated our bestfriend Renee’s birthday at this amazing and magical resort. We had the pleasure of having the whole grand resort to ourselves, which consisted of the main house and five charming casitas, several gardens and quiet patio corners, saltwater pool and outdoor patio with full bar and grill accoutrements. Joe, our new friend and proprietor, started our experience with a grand tour of the entire estate. How he described each location and casita enhanced our experience and enticed us with the famous past and present. It was very obvious that each spot was a work of love and care, from the original 1928 Spanish floor tiles, buildings and gardens, all the way to the modern touches, which did not subtract from the beauty of the past. Each casita was designed and appointed beautifully with full kitchens and full service tableware and glassware, comfy and welcoming queen beds, a pair of fluffy soft white robes for lounging, fully stocked bathroom facility, TV and wifi, even a mini flashlight for those late-night trips to the hot tub or moonlight tiptoe through the gardens. We had relaxing massages (recommended by Joe) on the rooftop patio which 360-degree views of the mountain vista took your breath away! We had the option of preparing our own meals, which not many resorts accommodate that option. We were blessed to have a hobby chef among us girlfriends. Just cooking in the fully furnished kitchen and outdoor bar and grill made this mundane chore a pleasurable and enjoyable activity for each of us. The resort was wired perfectly for TV for the football playoffs that some of us girls enjoyed on the last Sunday of our weekend and music wherever and whenever we wanted to enhance our listening pleasure. Joe encouraged us to contact him at any time to ensure nothing was amiss in our enjoyment throughout the entire weekend. Each nook and cranny was a delight: garden arches, water features, and even an outdoor chess or checkers set for our relaxing enjoyment. This wonderful resort made our dear friend’s birthday one to remember always! I wish I could post all of my pictures! Just a written post does not even do the place justice! Joe, we thank you for making our experience at your place “the best weekend and birthday ever!”
We had the pleasure of throwing a surprise baby shower at this extraordinary location with mountain views unmatched! Not only was the setting perfect but the staff couldn’t have made the set up and event any easier for our group. Events can be stressful but this was a breeze! Every attention to detail was addressed and our Mother and Father to be were overwhelmed by how beautiful everything turned out! I highly recommend this location for your next special event!
We rented this majestic Palm Springs gem for a girls weekend with 9 of my best friends. It was fantastic! We each had two girls to one of the casitas, which surrounded a gorgeous pool, outdoor dining, kitchen, and outdoor bar with built in grill. It’s so perfect for a group!!! We had two masseuse come to give us massages in the mornings and a chef (chef Giovanni, who cooked for Madonna for years) cook for us. Ask Joe for their contact info. He knows everyone and everything about Palm Springs! You can also walk into town or ride one of the bikes provided from the house. Highly recommended for anyone!!!
